The Elements to Producing Precious...............

So That’s Where All My Lost Colored Pencils Ended Up....

Justin Timberlake’s support for his favored charity is worth $9.3 million.

Justin Timberlake’s support for his favored charity is worth $9.3 million. Paris Hilton’s? $538. The Daily Beast crunches the numbers to find the real value 50 stars—from Madonna, Oprah, and Bono to Angelina, Bob Dylan, and Prince William—bring to their causes.

With the Tiger Woods scandal, one of the big unanswered questions is how his indefinite leave from the sport will affect his charitable endeavors. But how much is a celebrity’s affiliation really worth? How much impact, other than their own Q rating, do they have on the good causes they promote?

“Avatar,” One of this Holidays Historic Hits........

“Avatar,” the first feature film by director James Cameron since he was crowned The King of the World with “Titanic” in 1997, is easily one of the most highly anticipated films of this rapidly ending decade. It opens today and – some minor gripes aside – will be THE family film of the holiday season.

Set in a future where humans have pretty much destroyed the Earth, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is assigned to the far away planet of Pandora. There, scientists have figured out a way to put his consciousness into an Avatar, a vessel of a body resembling that of the native people called the Na’vi. Jake’s mission is to infiltrate the tall, blue, naturalistic Na’vi, learn about them, and do his best to help the humans take the rich energy source their home is built on. Predictably, Jake grows a consciousness and the film slowly becomes a love letter to nature in an epic war.

World's Friendliest Countries..........

Canada no longer tops the list of the friendliest nations, a new survey says. No. 1 is in the Middle East

The Middle East has long had a reputation for being one of the world's perennial trouble spots. But for expatriates, the tiny Persian Gulf county Bahrain ranks as one of the most welcoming places to work.

Oprah Talks to Jay-Z

Sneak Peak: Oprah Talks to Jay-Z
The Exclusive O Interview
At 13 he was selling crack. By 30 he was a hip-hop legend—having gone, in his words, "from grams to Grammys." Now Jay-Z charts his escape from the hard-knock life, describes the reunion that healed the wounds of his childhood—and even reveals the standing Sunday date he has with what's her name.

The complete interview will be availabe in the October 2009 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, on newsstands September 15th. Get a first look right here.
Oprah: So tell me how you got into the drug dealing.

Jay-Z: It was natural.…

Oprah: Because drug dealers were your role models. There wasn't a teacher or a lawyer or a nurse or a doctor or an accountant in the neighborhood?

Jay-Z: Well, we were living in Marcy by then, so, no. And if anyone did become something like that, they moved out. They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That's why I've always said that if I became successful, I'd come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done.

Oprah: So by the time you were 13, this was a way of life. Did the lifestyle frighten you?

Jay-Z: No. It was normal. And at some point, you become addicted to the feeling. The uncertainty and adrenaline and danger of that lifestyle.

Oprah: This is where we differ. This is where we differ. Because I'd be very scared! Weren't you shot at three times—within six feet—and you lived to talk about it?

Jay-Z: That was divine intervention. Divine intervention, and nobody knowing how to shoot.

Oprah: What happened in each situation?

Jay-Z: It was one situation, three shots.

Oprah: So he was a bad shot.

Jay-Z: Well, no one really practices shooting a TEC-9 machine gun, right? And when you're a kid, with little bony arms—no wonder nobody could aim.

Oprah: Many of the little boys who grew up in the Marcy projects are either in jail or dead. Why do you think you got to grow up and buy your mom a house?

Jay-Z: There's the gift, there's the spirit, and there's the work—all three have to come together. If one of those things is off, it can stop you from becoming who you were meant to be.

Oprah: When I met you a few years ago, we discussed our disagreement over the use of the N word and misogynist lyrics in rap music. Do you believe that using the N word is necessary?

Jay-Z: Nothing is necessary. It's just become part of the way we communicate. My generation hasn't had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren't so close to the pain. So in our way, we disarmed the word. We took the fire pin out of the grenade.

Whitney Houston's Comeback Complete.New Album In Stores Today,But Does She Still Have An Audience? Her Label Hopes So

Reuters Reports

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Don't call it a comeback. I've been here for years," Whitney Houston sings on what is, in fact, her latest comeback album.

The 46-year-old pop singer, a long-term resident of the record charts during the 1980s and '90s, officially ends a seven-year hiatus on Monday with the U.S. release of her sixth studio album, "I Look To You."

Early reviews are promising and Houston's Sony Corp-owned Arista Records label hopes it will become one of the biggest sellers of the year.

Kelis Wants More Money From Nas.............

After receiving a judgment last month ordering Nas to pay over $44,000 in monthly child and spousal support, singer Kelis is now requesting an increase totaling over $400,000.

According to court documents filed by Kelis Rogers lawyer Laura Wasser, her client is entitled to more income since Nas allegedly grosses $244,826.00 per month.

In comparison, Wasser states that Kelis only generates 13,744.00 per month and is dependent on Nas to maintain her current lifestyle.

Kelis is asking for $17,225.00 a month in child support, $72,728.00 in spousal support, retro child support of $29,522.00, and retro spousal support of $281,571.

If the courts approve, Kelis will receive a total of $401,076.00 in addition to the $44,000 plus judgment decreed last month.

Diddy Preps For Revamped Sean John Clothing Line

n addition to recruiting new talent via the MTV audience this summer and fall, Diddy is preparing to change the image and logo of his highly successful Sean John clothing line.

Diddy revealed his plans in Diddy Blog No. 43, saying he plans to make the change after over ten years in the industry.

"One of the biggest things is the Sean John logo," Diddy explained in the video. "Y'all remember the last Sean John logo we had... And right now I would like to introduce to you the new, more evolved, future logo. The future, the evolution, the re-invention. As you see in the new logo, what is the new look? This is Sean John, we had to step up our game. You either change or get changed. You know who said that? Me... So we gonna be doing some of these, we gonna let you come into the design room and see some of our behind-the-scenes, also we gonna have y'all come in on some meetings too. Our t-shirt game, we're stepping it up... Check it out y'all, this is a little preview of what's to come. Y'all see we in here grinding, we in here working. We have to get things together, we had to step up our game."

Diddy is not the only one redoing his clothing brand, as Jay-Z also recently dished on his plans to team up with Spike Lee for Rocawear's 10th anniversary.

Although they're making changes, many other clothing companies, like G-Unit and Snoop Dogg's Rich & Infamous, have been seeing declines in production due to a weak economy.

Sibling Rivalry: Jay-Z & Kanye West

Without a fancy intro or provocative thesis statement, simply put, Jay and ‘Ye have been going at each other’s throats for the better part of a decade. Their latest project didn’t help calm the debate either. Similar to how I’ve done in the past, I’ve taken the liberty to flashback and examine their rich and competitive lyrical history.

For the record, the only songs considered valid were records they’ve appeared on together (with one exception). Anyway, let’s talking, more research. Without further adieu, bring on the debate.

Jay-Z Feat. Kanye West - “Girls, Girls, Girls” (Remix)

Jay’s Quotables: “She call me professor, say ‘Daddy come and test us’/ So she can fail on purpose and repeat the semester/ I’m like, ‘At this rate ma, you’ll never graduate’/ She said, ‘I ain’t no fool, I’ll make it up in summer school…’”

Kanye’s Quotables: “You remind me of my jeep but not Nokia/ We can talk on my cell but not Nokia/ It be goin’ in and out that’s why i barely hear ya/ It be goin’ in and out like a robberia/ I’m tryna take dis money like Rob and Gia/ And I’m a take you to my house like Trick and Trina…”

Synopsis: It wasn’t an official remix, but best believe if Kanye made the beat, you know he had to have verses on it. His offering was catchy as all hell, but you’d be hard pressed to find someone who did this track more justice than Jay.

Jay-Z -1
Kanye - 0

Jay-Z Feat. Kanye West - “Excuse Me Miss Again”

Jay: “He patterns hisself the rap J.F.K., you wanna pass for my Jacqueline Onassis?/ Then, hop ya ass outta that S-Class/ Lay back in that Maybach, roll the best grass/ I ask/ Have you in your long-legged life ever seen a watch surrounded by this much pink ice?”

Kanye: “So you take the Destiny Child girl in the Coupe/ And I’ma try bag the ones that got kicked out the group/ I figured that’ll be simple, I’ll just help ‘em with their demo/ Help ‘em to the limo, play the I’m Good instrumentals/ And she - grabbed my tattoo, peeped my credentials/ And she - grabbed my pants, felt the potential/ And I - brought ’bout every essential/ To have fun breakin’ her fundamentals…”

Synopsis: I always wanted this to be over the original “Excuse Me Miss” instrumental. Yet and still, as much as I loved “La, La, La”, that Kanye line was just too sick to ignore.

Jay-Z-1
Kanye -1

Jay-Z Feat. Kanye West - “The Bounce” (from The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse)

Jay: “Rumor has it, The Blueprint classic/ Couldn’t even been stopped by Bin Laden/ So September 11th marks the era forever of the revolutionary Jay Guevara…”

Kanye: “Did ‘Takeover’, do you got beef with Nas?/ I did take over the game, brought back the soul/ Got tracks to go, got plaques that’s sold/ Platinum and gold, yeah that’s the flow…”

Synopsis: Two years after providing the framework for the original Blueprint, ‘Ye gets his first mainstream opportunity to go bar for bar with Jay on the second installment. While Jay’s intro bars were nothing short of amazing, there aren’t many artists who’ve outshined Hov, let alone a newcomer. Kanye can say both.

Jay-Z - 1
Kanye - 2

Talib Kweli Feat. Mos Def, Jay-Z, Kanye West & Busta
Rhymes- “Get By” (Remix)

Jay: “Just to get by nigga I sold dope/ Nigga I pushed lah/ Carried a fo-five, claimed I was ‘Ready To Die’/ Promised never to cry, held it all inside…”

Kanye: “Lord willin’ I ain’t killed nobody/ But I have a feeling with this album that I’m gonna make a killin’/ Or not a schilling, this is love it or hate it music/ But…at least we made it music/ And we didn’t make it industry/ This is gon’ be interesting/ This’ll be the end of me or I’m going to be an entity…”

Synopsis: For as dope as Jay’s verse was, Kanye’s was prophetic. Pretty much everything he said has come true. I feel bad for Talib, however. No one ever quotes his verse.

Jay-Z - 1
Kanye - 3

Kanye West Feat. Jay-Z & J-Ivy “Never Let Me Down” (from The College Dropout)

ay: “Young, the archbishop/ The Pope John Paul of y’all niggas the way y’all all follow Jigga/ Hov’s a living legend and I tell you why/ Everybody wanna be Hov/ And Hov still alive…”

Kanye: “I get down for my grandfather who took my mama/ Made her sit in that seat where white folks ain’t want us to eat/ At the tender age of six, she was arrested for the sit-ins/ And with that in my blood, I was born to be different…”

Synopsis: While it was painfully difficult to pick against Kanye considering his subject matter, Jay was just too much to ignore.

Jay-Z - 2
Kanye - 3

Kanye West Feat. Jay-Z - “Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix)” (from Late Registration)

Jay: “How could you falter when you’re the Rock of Gibraltar/ I had to get off the boat so I can walk on water/ This ain’t no tall order, this is nothin’ to me/ Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week…”

Kanye: “People askin’ me is I’m gon’ give my chain back/ That’ll be the same day I give the game back/ You know the next question, ‘Dog yo, where Dame at?”

Synopsis: The sad thing is, Kanye’s verse was hot, but Jay stole the show, the song and the acclaim thereafter with his. ‘Ye, himself, went on to confirm it on “Big Brother.” What was the lesson in all this you ask? 1) Even in “retirement,” Jay was NOT to be fucked with and 2) Bleek was officially awarded his “full scholarship” on life. Kick back young man, it’s green pastures from here.

Jay-Z - 3
Kanye - 3

Young Jeezy Feat. Kanye West - “Put On” (from The Recession)

Young Jeezy Feat. Jay-Z - “Put On” (Remix) (from The Recession)

Jay: “I put Mike Jack on stage, Summer Jam ‘Billie Jean’/ I put Prodigy in his place on that Summer Jam screen/ I put ‘Preme in my truck, told him leave them streets alone/ I predicted jail would happen, shit I tried to put him on/ All these niggas takin’ credit for the work that I put in/ If you really put me on, put yo’ self on then…”

Kanye: “I feel like it’s still niggas that owe me checks/ I feel like it’s still bitches that owe me sex/ I feel like these butt niggas don’t know this stress/ I lost the only girl in the world that know me best…”

Synopsis: Here’s the exception I was referring to. I know this selection is going to ruffle quite a few feathers, but Jay gets the vote by THIS much. With that said, I think we’ve all wanted ‘at least one of Russell’s neices’ at some point.

Jay-Z - 4
Kanye - 3

T.I. Feat. Kanye West, Jay-Z & Lil Wayne - “Swagger Like Us” (from Paper Trail)

Jay: “But I can’t teach you my swag, you can pay for school but you can’t buy class/ School of Hard Knocks, I’m a grad/ And that all blue Yankee is my graduation cap…”

Kanye: “My attitude is tattooed/ That means it’s permanent, so I guess we should address it (huh)/ My swagger is Mick Jagger/ Everytime I breathe on the track, I asthma attack it…”

Synopsis: In hindsight, they were both battling for second since T.I. had the best showing. Kanye wins because of Jay’s brief stint into singing towards the end of his verse.

Jay-Z - 4
Kanye -4

DJ Khaled Feat. Jay-Z, T-Pain & Kanye West - “Go Hard” (Remix)

Jay: “On dark nights, it’s like I see better/ On ‘Dark Knight’s’ I’m like Heath Ledger/ Even if I overdose on drugs motherfuckers can’t kill my buzz…”

Kanye: “I’m a tell you like George Bush told me/ Fuck y’all niggas I’m outta here…”

Synopsis: Jay proclaimed he would go harder than “bay bro” and an argument can be made he did. On this record, however, Jay was Johnny Drama while ‘Ye served as Vinnie Chase.

Jay-Z - 4
Kanye - 5

Jay-Z Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West - “Run This Town” (from The Blueprint³)

Jay: “And they ain’t spendin’ no cake/ They should throw they hand in cause they ain’t got no spades/ My whole team got dough/ So my bankhead is lookin’ like “Millionaire’s Row…”

Kanye: “We give a damn about the drama that you do bring/ I’m just tryin change the color of your mood ring/ Reebok baby? You need to try some new things/ Have you ever had shoes without shoe strings?/ What’s that Ye? Baby these heels/ Is that a May…Whattt?/ Baby these wheels/ You trippin’ when you ain’t sippin’, have a refill/ You feel like you running huh? Now you know how we feel…”

Synopsis: The most lopsided of the entire bunch. Sorry if that was anti-climatic.

Jay-Z - 4
Kanye - 6

So, there it is. What’s your take? 6-4 Jay? 7-3 Kanye? Whatever your tally amounts to, one thing’s for sure. It won’t be easy.

Kid CuDi Covers Complex Magazine, Talks Drake

People love to point out similarities between you and Drake—do you view him as competition?

Kid Cudi: I think it’s just that Drake and me are the most creative out of the new up-and-coming MCs. Me and Drake are here not because of anything other than two niggas that have their own flavor. I’m doing my shit, nobody else can do my shit. Nobody else can do Wale’s shit or Charles Hamilton’s shit. It’s like a bunch of Kool-Aid stands. It just matters whose flavor you like the most.

It seems like a lay-up for you and Drake to work together.

Kid Cudi: We’ll come together eventually, but I’m not trying to force this because there’s hype around us both. I want to work with Drake, yeah, but right now I don’t want to work with anyone who’s in the same creative realm as me. I’m still creating my own shit.

Has he reached out to work with you?

Kid Cudi: Drake had been wanting to do an official “Day ’N’ Nite” remix early on. He was one of my earliest supporters; that’s why I fuck with Drake on another level than just being a new artist. His homeboy Oliver used to hit me up when I’d go to Toronto, like, “Yo, you gotta fuck with Drake.” Imagine if I would’ve let Drake remix “Day ’N’ Nite” when he wanted to back in ’07. That shit would’ve fizzled out; no one would’ve cared. Luckily we let it live and it worked out. We’re changing things on accident. That’s how I know this is my destin

10 Ways to Tell He’s Cheating

Okay ladies, if you haven’t noticed…the trending topic this week is lying and cheating. Yesterday, the Bossip team posed a question to our lady readers asking if they would stay with a man who cheats. But how do you know he does if you haven’t caught him in the act? As we all know, men have a tendency to sweet talk their ladies into believing they are more than faithful when, in truth, he’s a cheating ass. As always, women are inclined to give their guy the benefit of the doubt and chalk up our gut feelings to being overly suspicious. Couple that with the conversation you had with homeboy confronting his sketchy behavior when he hit you with the “you trippin’ I would never do that to you” or “those are your insecurities,” and suddenly you’re convinced…”I am trippin’.” But ladies, read the signs! If you have the feeling of unrest or suspicion, pay close attention because there are behavioral patterns that point to infidelity.

1.) Senseless Arguments – every couple bickers and nags occasionally, that comes with the territory. However, if your guys seems to get overly irritated at things that haven’t been a problem but suddenly he can’t stand that you don’t put the cap on the toothpaste, something’s up.

2.) Frequently Threatens to Bail – this behavior can be coupled with No.1, if your guy threatens to leave the relationship every time you argue over foolish nothings, he’s looking for an out. For example, if your guy fusses over the toothpaste and he says “you know what, maybe this isn’t working,” or “I think we need a break,” you already know what it is.

3.) Frequent Late Nights – if at one time you could expect your man to reach out or come home at a certain time, and the entire routine of your union unravels and comes to a screeching halt, this could be a sign. If your guy starts to keep late nights regularly, and is always out with one particular “boy” or “cousin,” chances are he’s seeing someone else.

4.) Random Overtime – to follow up on No. 3, overtime hours could also be a camouflage for those frequent late nights. If you always get that phone call around the time he normally comes to see you or comes home, and he tells you he’s “working late,” you may want to be concerned, especially if you can’t reach him for hours or until the following day.

5.) Spending Habits Change – one thing is true about a man: he will not be dishing out cash on more than one woman, period. If you guys used to paint the town red, with dinner and movie dates and take vacations but suddenly it stops, that’s a red flag. Of course if he’s saving for a house or taking on a personally funded project, then naturally the cash flow will be affected. But if he’s making excuses about why he can’t take you out, he may be spending his cash on someone else.

6.) Verbal Abuse – every relationship has their ups and downs, and at times hurtful things will be said. But if your man seems to be taking digs at you for no real reason and seems to find joy in hurting you, not only is he a douche bag, he’s probably a cheating one.

7.) He’s Suddenly a Gym Rat – if working out and getting ripped is a new found priority for your man but he’s never been a fan of the gym, be weary. If the two of you have put on a few good eating and sleeping pounds, but he just has to get rid of them, he may be seeing someone else. Those are fat deposits the both of you put on together, therefore, you should lose them together. If he’s hitting the gym without you, he’s probably doing some other things without you too.

8.) He Starts Asking Hypothetical Questions – “is it possible to love more than one person at a time?” is a question that is more than just hypothetical. If he’s asking these kinds of questions, he’s probably feeling some kind of way, maybe torn between his feelings for you and the other girl. Instead of answering the question, seek the reasoning behind the inquiry.

9.) Deletes Cellular Communication – if you’re the type to go through your man’s phone, and you notice that he hasn’t made or received a call or text for more than two days, he’s been deleting his history and clearly has something to hide. If he’s deleting, he’s cheating.

10.) Condoms – if you have been in a lengthy relationship with a man, more often than not, birth control pills are the contraceptive of choice. If you’re on the pill, but you start finding condoms in your guy’s pockets and wallets, you should know he’s either sleeping with another girl or trying to. And, you should start using them with him, pills don’t shield disease.
